Adam Hiltner is not just any trainer. He brings just the right amount of seriousness with enough humor that you never grow bored or complacent. You’re working hard but having fun at the same time.
One of his amazing talents is that he somehow sees everyone in the room, just when you think that you can get away with slacking in a corner somewhere, he screams, “Jen, I know you can do 10 more, move it!” And what’s amazing is it works. He pushes just the right amount too. I come from a dance background and am quite used to being pushed and sometimes too hard to the point of feeling defeated – that never will happen with Adam. He knows how much pressure to put on someone and he knows when to lay off.
The thing that is his best gift is his ability to break movements down into a step by step method. Some people can describe a motion perfectly in words while others can demonstrate it but can’t really explain what they are doing with their bodies – Adam, with is knowledge of anatomy, somehow does both and when he’s through explaining/demonstrating something, you get even the seemingly impossible.
Here’s the situation: if you have Adam Hiltner available for training and you’re not taking advantage of his knowledge, you’re missing out and more than likely not reaching your potential, plain and simple. I’m being serious here, Adam has a gift and under his supervision, you are simply able to do so much more than you thought possible.

“Adam Hiltner is a first rate athlete, coach and, I dare say, an absolutely outstanding person, not just to train with, but to know. I was privileged to meet Adam during the period when he was coaching and training with us at CrossFit Asheville. At the time I was new to CrossFit, and Adams friendly guidance, and thoughtful, intelligent coaching has really helped me to stay on track, develop my skills, and solidify my gains. He also has a sly sense of humor. It seems to me that CrossFit is more than an unbeatable program for functional fitness training; it’s more than a resource for developing superior health, nutrition, and athletic performance; CrossFit is about people. And Adam is good people. Good luck Adam and Precision CrossFit! We’ll miss you!”

“It would be difficult to overstate how important Adam was to the foundation and growth of CrossFit Asheville. His bio-mechanical understanding, coaching skills and motivational methods are second to none. His concern for client well being and growth was always obvious and impressive. Adam approached each client as an individual and sought to make their CrossFit experience as rewarding as it could possibly be.
I personally will always consider him ‘Coach’ as well as friend.”
